Overview
The SM350 is a single-chip solution for HDD based portable audio/photo/movie/storage devices.
It features high performance digital audio, image decoder, flexible storage and display interfaces
for standalone portable media players. A built-in high performance digital signal processor performs
JPEG picture and MP3/WMA decode, which enables the SM350 to play photo slide shows and background music
simultaneously. Furthermore, the internal JPEG accelerator of the SM350 enables the motion JPEG function
to play a movie. The internal micro-processor controls the input storage devices, such as IDE, NAND flash,
CompactFlash®, SecureDigital™, MultiMediaCard™, Memory Stick®, and Memory Stick Pro™. The SM350 integrates
industry-standard serial interfaces, ACLink and I2S, to interface with external audio codec. A USB 2.0 device
interface allows high-speed data transfer between PC and attached storage devices. In addition, I2C, SPI, and
GPIO's are available for user-friendly control interfaces.
The SM350 supports Microsoft's Windows Media Digital
Rights Management (MS WMDRM 10) which allows users to purchase music from the internet.
Our solution is ideal for high performance MP3 and photo players with multiple card-reader capabilities.
